Where is my data stored?

All your groups, people, and expenses are stored locally on your device. Halfsies has no account system and no cloud sync, so nothing leaves your phone.

How do I add someone to a group?

Add them to your People list first (People tab), then select them when creating or editing a group.

Can I recover my data if I delete the app?

Since everything is stored on-device only, deleting the app deletes its data with it. Back up important groups first using the Export option (PNG, JSON, or CSV) in a group's menu.

Why can't I remove someone from a group?

Halfsies blocks removing a member while they're still part of an expense or unsettled balance in that group, to avoid corrupting your expense history. Settle up or edit those expenses first, then remove them.
